Magnitude 4.9 earthquake hits Hualien City
On Tuesday while the people of Hualien are on their deep sleep their city has been hit by a magnitude 4.9 earthquake at 01:02 in the morning.
According to the data taken from the website of the Central Weather Bureau, the epicenter of the quake was recorded at 4.8 kilometers south of Hualien City Hall with a depth of 33 kilometers.

The strongest intensity was recorded at Hualien at Intensity level 4 followed by Intensity level 3 in Taitung County and Changhua County.
While Intensity level 2 was recorded at Nantou, Chiayi, Taichung City, Yilan, Yunlin, and Miaoli.
In Kaohsiung City, Tainan City, Chiayi City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County, and New Taipei City an Intencity Level 1 was recorded by CWB.
The Central Weather Bureau uses a scale of 1 to 7 to measure the intensity of an Earthquake. This measures the degree of an earthquake that has been felt in a specific location.
